A Bitter Cup
wave was asked to refresh the look and feel of War on Want's thorough and well-researched reports, and A Bitter Cup is the first report in the new style.
Our brief was to achieve an updated, contemporary look, adhering to and developing their strong identity, and reflecting the organisation's commitment to activism worldwide. We devised a striking, hard-hitting design, featuring a textured hessian motif throughout, which breaks up the dense black and echoes the distressed finish of their logo.
We retained the A4 portrait format of the former reports with a four-colour cover and two-colour text pages to keep production costs low and it is printed on a 100% recycled offset stock. We are currently working on our second report with War on Want.
